Congratulations to WRVB associate Elaine McCafferty who was recently installed as the chair of the Appellate Advocacy Section for the Virginia Association of Defense Attorneys (VADA).
Elaine will serve a one-year term as section chair, leading VADA’s appellate section as its members navigate the new right of appeal to the Court of Appeals in Virginia. A former law clerk to then Chief Justice Lemons from 2017 to 2020, Elaine focuses her practice on appellate advocacy. She has litigated appeals in state and federal courts involving products liability, malpractice, labor and employment, and property rights.
Elaine assumes the lead role on the heels of her tenure as vice chair. As vice chair, she was invited to speak at both the Spring and Annual Meetings in 2023.
