Vandeventer Black attorney, Douglas M. Palais, has been awarded the Commonwealth Award by the Independent Insurance Agents of Virginia (IIAV). Palais is only the third recipient of the award in the IIAV’s 120-year history.
“This award is such an honor. It is also a great privilege to represent this association and its members which I’ve done for decades,” said Palais, who is also the general counsel for the IIAV. “Being part of this organization has given me the pleasure of representing multiple generations of agents and agencies.”
The IIAV’s Commonwealth Award was created to recognize global efforts in support of the insurance industry and the profession. It is given to those members that have devoted countless hours assisting members, the association, and the staff.
Palais is a highly accomplished attorney who has also been recognized among the “Best Lawyers in America” for Insurance Law, Securities, and Capital Markets Law; “Virginia Super Lawyers” by Thomson Reuters in Securities Litigation; and a “Legal Elite” by Virginia Business Magazine.
