In recognition of National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, Vandeventer Black is pleased to announce that it will again be providing information and resources throughout the month of October to increase awareness of some of the complex cybersecurity issues and challenges that face businesses in Virginia and beyond. Recently, we published a series of articles addressing ransomware attacks, such as those involving Colonial Pipeline and JBS S.A., as well as an in-depth discussion and video examining Virginia’s New Data Privacy Law and a discussion of recent developments in cryptocurrency. In October, we will continue our efforts to provide businesses with information about the latest cybersecurity issues to help businesses stay ahead of the curve.
The past year has seen our business and personal lives become increasingly dependent on technology. With many businesses continuing to operate via remote working models and virtual meetings, personal and business data are increasingly being stored on inter-connected platforms and devices, which become a golden opportunity for exploitation by various nefarious actors. Join us throughout the month of October as we provide tips and information on cybersecurity best practices, including basic cyber hygiene, recognizing phishing scams, wire transfer fraud, ransomware, cyber liability insurance, and others, to help keep businesses in the know about cybersecurity.
For more information on these issues, contact the attorneys at Vandeventer Black.
