Vandeventer Black has been a proud supporter of the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore for over 19 years and “Feed More” in Richmond. The firm has participated in the Virginia Bar Association’s annual statewide fundraising event,” Legal Food Frenzy,” since its inception in 2006.

“It is always a great pleasure seeing all of our attorneys, staff, clients, and friends come together to support and contribute to the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia,” said Gaela Normile, an associate for the firm and coordinator of this year’s Legal Food Frenzy.

For the Food Bank, Vandeventer Black raised $16,632.73, which will provide 41,581 meals to our neighbors facing food insecurity. In addition, the firm contributed over $200,000 to local food banks over the years.

“The Foodbank remains committed to ending hunger today for the people we serve. Whatever the need, our stakeholders are putting their trust in us to move forward in ending hunger today and nourishing hope for tomorrow, “said Mallory Reckling, Community Engagement Coordinator for the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore. “A special thanks to Vandeventer Black Team for all you do to support the Foodbank and the communities we serve; we appreciate those who made this competition so successful.”

The Legal Food Frenzy groups various law firms, law schools, and government institutions together in a friendly competition to benefit and support people in the local community.

“We appreciate Vandeventer Black’s continued support of the Food Bank.  With the onset of COVID-19, the need for food and funds across the state has never been greater.  Knowing that our efforts were going to help local families was a great feeling.”
