The Families First Coronavirus Response Act of 2020 made overnight changes to employee leave options. From emergency paid leave to expanded FMLA to interpreting the FLSA in the time of COVID-19, this session will review how to handle current leave issues and what to expect when the COVID-19 laws expire and workplaces return to the “new normal”.

Learning objectives:

After this session, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the FFCRA and apply its requirements to their workplace’s leave policies and procedures.
  2. Interpret the FLSA for issues raised by the pandemic, such as teleworking and workforce reductions
  3. Create and implement an action plan for COVID-19 exposure in the workplace.
