Attorney Deborah M. Casey, a Vandeventer Black AV Preeminent® rated partner and Executive Board member, will receive the Influential Woman of Law for 2019 distinction on February 18, 2019. This recognition is awarded by Virginia Lawyers Weekly as part of the inaugural class of Virginia’s leading women attorney program.

“Debbie’s integrity and character are demonstrated in many areas, especially in her active role in the community by serving on various Boards and Committees for several organizations,” said Michael Sterling, Managing Partner.

This new awards program is in partnership with the VADA, Virginia Bar Association, Virginia State Bar Diversity Conference, VTLA, Virginia Women Attorneys Association, and Old Dominion Bar Association. Its intended to honor women in the legal industry, particularly attorneys and judges, for their outstanding work and commitment to their communities.

Casey is a highly accomplished attorney who has also been recognized among ‘Influential Women of the Year’ by Virginia Lawyers Weekly, ‘Women In The Law 2017’ by Virginia Living Magazine, and ‘Women In Business’ by Inside Business.

Also, Vandeventer Black’s Partners recently re-elected Casey to continue to serve as an Executive Board Member for the next two years. She also serves as a leader in the law firm’s Community Associations law practice and is one of only a few lawyers in Southeastern Virginia and only 155 nationwide admitted as a Fellow to CAI National’s College of Community Association Lawyers (CCAL).

For almost three decades, Casey has concentrated her practice in representing Virginia’s common interest communities providing legal counsel spanning the broad spectrum of legal issues.  Her clients include a roster of condominium and property owners’ associations, as well as creditors and commercial property owners.
