Steve practices in the Commercial Real Estate practice group out of Woods Rogers Vandeventer Black’s (WRVB) Charlottesville office. He focuses on real estate finance and land use law and represents clients regarding commercial real estate matters.
He is experienced in guiding clients through complex land use matters, including master plan approval and rezoning issues, and is familiar with the public land use processes of a number of localities in Virginia. Steve is also a member of the Banking practice team.
Steve is a previous Governor of the Real Property Section of the Virginia State Bar. He has been recognized as a Virginia Super Lawyer in Real Estate Law and listed in The Best Lawyers in America for Real Estate Law and Administrative/Regulatory Law. He was also named a “Legal Elite for Real Estate/Land Use Law” by Virginia Business.
In the community, Steve works with local and regional economic development organizations to attract businesses to the Central Piedmont region. In the past, he served as a Commissioner for the Charlottesville Redevelopment and Housing Authority. He recently served on the Board of Directors of Jefferson School Restoration, Inc., a non-profit organization formed to preserve the historic African-American high school in Charlottesville, Va.
