Jennifer’s practice focuses on family and domestic law. Her family law services include divorces, domestic adoption, and custody issues, including those that are complex. She has a background in criminal defense and is certified by the Virginia Indigent Defense Commission.

Jennifer serves as a Guardian ad litem to children involved in high conflict custody matters and children involved in the foster care system. She often works with parents, custodians, and families to help them achieve a positive family atmosphere that will help their children thrive and become successful adults.

Jennifer is a lifelong member of the Roanoke community. Before beginning her legal studies, she served in the U.S. Army Virginia National Guard and worked as a Registered Nurse. She began her legal career working for a smaller firm in the Roanoke Valley and quickly earned her way to partner then to owner/managing partner. With her background in criminal law, nursing, and work with families involved with the Foster Care system she is acutely aware of some of the more complex needs that some families may experience. While she has extensive experience in court, Jennifer’s approach is often focused on helping clients find the right solution outside the courtroom.

Jennifer has recently been appointed to serve as a substitute judge by the 23rd Judicial Circuit at the General District and Juvenile and Domestic Relations General District Courts level throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Jennifer and her husband enjoy volunteering with local animal shelters and groups. They often host foster dogs and help transport them when they need to be relocated from one place to another. They really enjoy helping out with Pilots and Paws, as her husband is a private pilot and the animals can travel a further distance in less time.
