Greg is an experienced attorney who has represented transportation providers for nearly 45 years, with an emphasis on surface transportation companies.  While in private practice, he represented motor carriers before federal and state regulatory agencies and courts, prepared and reviewed a variety of contracts, and provided general legal advice to these entities.

Greg served as Corporate Counsel for a national less-than-truckload carrier and Associate General Counsel for a national truckload carrier of household goods, high value products, and general commodities moving in dry vans.  He is experienced in contractual and regulatory matters, freight loss and damage claims, contract disputes, and a variety of other areas for these clients.

Building on his experience representing motor carriers, Greg joined a large Class I railroad company. His career with the railroad spanned over 25 years and culminated in his retirement as Deputy General Counsel. His primary responsibility was representing the Marketing Division in all facets of their responsibilities including drafting and negotiation of transportation contracts, representing the company before the U. S. Surface Transportation Board, and providing counsel with respect to antitrust and regulatory compliance.  He also negotiated and drafted agreements among railroads, structured agreements taking into account labor considerations, advised and negotiated public-private partnership agreements, and acted as general counsel for the company’s motor carrier and 3PL subsidiaries.  Finally, he was heavily involved in the structuring, contract-drafting, and negotiation of multiple agreements in the company’s participation in a transaction involving the purchase of a Class I railroad by two other Class I railroads, and subsequent division of the assets of the acquired company.

Greg’s multi-modal experience in the transportation industry as a lawyer and also as an important contributor to the operation of the business, gives him a unique perspective on a transportation company’s legal needs in the context of attaining success in achieving the client’s objectives.
